Mulum Women's Day concert raising funds for women in crisis

THIS Sunday is International Women's Day, and to celebrate a group of singers will take to the stage from 3-6pm at the Mullumbimby Court House Hotel to raise money for women in crisis.

Women's Day has been observed since the 1900s and this year's theme is Make it Happen.

The woman making this Sunday's concert happen is Kim Banffy, who had a vision of bringing together some of the Northern Rivers' most talented female musicians to raise the profile of the day.

Headlined by Sara Tindley and Ilona Harker, the Women Up Front concert will launch a week of music-making to celebrate women.

Other performers will include Kate Stroud, Kim Banffy, Baba Gaba, Claire Anne Taylor, Elle Gerand, Misty & Chloe, and The Young Murphies.

Shows include a lunchtime performance on Monday, March 9, at Southern Cross University, Lismore, and a show at 3.30pm on Thursday, March 12, at the Lismore Produce Market.
