A BIG crocodile has been lazing around the Ron Camm Bridge, observing anglers, according to reports by the public.
Facebook user Dave Gibbons posted about a "large crocodile sighted under the bridge in Mackay" late on Friday night.
"A large croc was sighted under the bridge in Mackay late last night. The Ron Camm Bridge on the Bruce Hwy. 3 metres.
"He was watching the boys fishing. Be careful Mackay. Please share"
Meanwhile, last Wednesday Dolphin Heads resident Gary Butcher spotted a 3-4m crocodile off the coast of Eimeo.
And the Department of Environment's CrocWatch website lists several other recent sightings.
A crocodile was reported and confirmed in Murray Creek in the Mackay region on December 6.
The department said the area is known crocodile habitat and permanent warning sings in place at Land Road boat ramp.
On December 1, a crocodile was also reported in a crab trap in Reliance Creek, Mackay.
