LACHY Hulme delivers another Logie-worthy performance in Power Games, say his co-stars.

The actor, whose acclaimed portrayal of Kerry Packer in Nine's mini-series Howzat! Kerry Packer's War earned him two Logie nominations, returns to play Kerry's dad Sir Frank Packer in Power Games: The Packer-Murdoch Story.

The two-part Howzat sequel chronicles the rise of newspaper man Rupert Murdoch and his rivalry with the Packer family in the 1960s and early '70s.

"Lachy is extraordinary," said Anne Looby, who stars opposite the actor as Packer's second wife Florence.

"He is a force of nature, Lachy Hulme. He is extremely intelligent and absolutely passionate about his craft. He never stops thinking and creating.

"He's extremely generous from my point of view in terms of exploring the material. He so embodies the work that again it makes my job very easy. I just hop on the ride with him really."

Even actor Patrick Brammall, who plays Hulme's on-screen nemesis, was full of praise for the 42-year-old.

"It was a joy to work with Lachy; I'd do it again in a heartbeat," Brammall told APN.

"He's like a film encyclopaedia. His reference points are lightning fast. He's always looking to make the scene better and find the human moment in the story.

"He really goes for it; that's what I loved about working with him."

Power Games: The Packer-Murdoch Story premieres on Channel 9/WIN tonight at 8.30pm.
