Kittens on demand: Uber will deliver you kittens to cuddle

TODAY could be the day you cuddle and play with a kitten at your desk.

Ride-sharing company Uber is offering to deliver the tiny cats to you directly, with all money helping to raise money to encourage the adoption of pets.

Unfortunately, UberKITTENS are only available in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Geelong, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

To have a kitten delivered, download the Uber app to your phone, request the "kittens" option between noon and 4pm local time.

If there is a kitty available, it will be brought to you for 15 minutes of "kitten cuteness".

For your $40 fee, not only will you gain the affection of a kitten, you will also be given an #UberKITTENS gift bag.

Every dollar donated during kitten visits goes directly to the participating shelter in your city:

The funds will support the Animal Welfare League Queensland in south-east Queensland, the Lort Smith Adoption Centre in Geelong and Melbourne, the Cat Haven in Perth and the Cat Protection Society in Sydney.
