Kate Winslet: ‘That nude Titanic portrait still haunts me’

APPARENTLY, posing nude for Leonardo DiCaprio isn't all cracked up to be.

Kate Winslet says that the famous Titanic scene in which she reclines on a sofa naked while a young DiCaprio draws her makes her feel uncomfortable, even 17 years on.

The Oscar-winning actress is often asked to sign the portrait on the red carpet.

"I don't sign that one," Winslet said of the picture.

"It feels very uncomfortable. Why would you do that? They were asking me to sign it. People ask me to sign that one a lot, and actually there's a photo of it as well that someone's lifted from a still of the film.

That photo gets passed around. It's like, 'No, I didn't mean for it to be a photograph that I would end up seeing 16, 17 years later.'"

"It is still haunting me," she told Yahoo! Movies UK. "It's quite funny, really."

The original portrait that appeared in the 1997 film was sold  for $16,000 in 2011 at a Premiere Props entertainment memorabilia auction. The illustration was reportedly created by the film's director, James Cameron.

Winslet currently stars in Divergent, the film adaptation of Veronica Roth's sci-fi action-adventure film, co-starring Shailene Woodley.

She plays the villainous Jeanine Matthews, who oversees a futuristic Chicago, which is divided into five sections - those who don't fit in are seen as "divergents".
