OLD Bonalbo’s Kate Lawrence has claimed two gold medals and a silver, dominating the C1 and K1 division at the International Canoe Slalom event at Merano, Italy.

Near-perfect conditions on Sunday paved the way for the veteran to take the three

medal haul, after a difficult first day of action that saw her clip a gate.

“I made a costly error on my first run on Saturday,” she said.

“I was happy that I was able to refocus and get a great win under my belt to kick off my European season.”

Lawrence is currently in Bourg Saint Maurice and is in a training camp in preparation for an IFC ranking event next Tuesday.
