Kangaroo attacks hunter, breaks his jaw

A MAN has had his jaw shattered after being headbutted by a kangaroo while out hunting in Western Australia.

Joshua Hayden was hunting with his brother in a paddock near Kellerberrin on Tuesday night when the pair spotted three kangaroos.

According to the ABC, one of the roos disappeared and as Mr Hayden leaned out the car window to take a shot at the others the third kangaroo reappeared and launched itself at the moving vehicle.

The 19-year-old claims the animal collided with the side of the car and smashed the front window before headbutting him straight in the jaw.

Mr Hayden was knocked out for around 30 seconds and when he woke he accused his brother of hitting him.

"I woke up and my brother was trying to tell me what happened," he said.

"I said 'No, you hit me' and he said 'No, the kangaroo did'."

He was taken to hospital but because his face was so swollen he was told he would have to wait 10 days before being able to have surgery.
