THE marquees are up, the guests have arrived and the volunteers are ready.

All is in place for a spectacular 2010 Byron Bay Writers Festival.

Starting tomorrow (Friday), the festival will run until Sunday and is being held back at its original site – the former Byron Bay Beach Resort.

With ticket sales ‘going through the roof’, the festival menu offers a veritable smorgasbord of literary delicacies including marquee sessions, food and feature events, a comedy night, workshops, book launches and more.

More than 115 writers from all over the world will attend and 140 volunteers will be on hand to help festival-goers.

There is on-site parking, and shuttle buses will operate from the main bus stop in town to the festival site.
