BUOYED by her chart success, X Factor eliminee Joelle Hadjia plans to pursue a recording career.

The 22-year-old was booted off Seven's singing competition last night in a no-win situation for her coach Redfoo, whose singer Jiordan was also up for elimination.

Despite a stronger performance by Hadjia on Sunday night, it wasn't enough to spur the viewers to rally for her.

"Just because you sing well or do a stronger performance doesn't necessarily mean the public is voting for you," she told APN.

"I wasn't surprised; anything is possible… I was completely prepared to be in the bottom two."

But the beautiful blonde, who is reportedly dating NRL star Sam Burgess, has confidence in her potential after her cover of Concrete Blonde's Joey shot to Number 3 on the iTunes chart and record label Interscope followed her on Twitter.

"That's Ellie Goulding and Lady Gaga's label," she said.

"I'm praying I'm picked up somewhere and I can get an original out to the public.

"I've already got some music out on YouTube now….I really enjoy writing my own music."

She credits Redfoo with giving her a more positive attitude.

"He taught me to be positive and productive and just focus on my strengths and what makes me unique," she said.

"He helped me with an attitude fix as well. I can be a little bit naughty (laughs)."

She disputed Ronan Keating's criticism that the other coaches weren't doing their jobs.

"I think that because something's not working out you need to blame something or someone," she said.

"I just believe that I didn't perform 100 percent up until my last two performances. Foo is great. I would never put it on him at all. I can see where Ronan is coming from but I don't agree."

Hadjia tips Third D3gree to win the show, noting that a few of the other favourites might have peaked too early.

"I know Jai initially had all the limelight, he's a little darling spunky baby boy, and then Dami took over with her crazy range but I believe Third D3gree still have more to show," she said.

The X Factor live shows go back to their normal times of Sunday at 6.30pm and Monday at 7.30pm on Seven next week.
