Jarryd Hayne to debut in 49ers season opener
FORMER rugby league star Jarryd Hayne is set to make a fairytale NFL debut, after earning a spot in the San Francisco 49ers' squad to take on the Minnesota Vikings today.
The former Eels, Blues and Kangaroos star is set to line up as the 49ers' third running back, behind Carlos Hyde and Reggie Bush.
He will also be expected to act as a kick/punt returner, a special teams position he excelled in during the pre-season.
