Jan Mangleson receives her award from Don Page.
Jan Mangleson’s ‘tireless service’ to the community has seen her being named Ballina Electorate Woman of the Year.
Mrs Mangleson, from Ocean Shores, was presented with the award at Mullumbimby last week by State Member for Ballina, Don Page,  who said her work had been widely credited with promoting health and community issues in the non-Aboriginal and Aboriginal communities.
“When you look at the incredible list of Jan’s achievements, it is even more remarkable when you know that she is the mother of eight children and grandmother to 19 grandchildren,” said Mr Page.
“Jan has given so much of herself to community while juggling the demands of a large family. She is indeed an inspiration and a very worthy recipient of this year’s award.”
