Billycart thrills and spills

AS you would expect, Sunday’s annual Bangalow Billycart Derby produced plenty of thrills and spills.

Thousands of people packed the town’s main street to watch billycarts of all shapes and sizes – and speed – compete in a range of categories including traditional, homegrown, novelty, professional and celebrity.

And for the first time this year, there was a schools challenge with schools from across the shire taking part.

Apart from the races, a major highlight of the day was the grand parade.

All proceeds from the not-for-profit event will be distributed to local charities.
