International navy ships set sail to Sydney for review

NAVY ships from more than 50 countries are making their way to Sydney where Prince Harry and other dignitaries will oversee the International Fleet Review this weekend.

At least 40 warships and 16 tall ships were expected to rest at Jervis Bay on Tuesday ahead of Thursday's trip to Sydney Harbour.

The review marks the centenary of the first entry of the Royal Australian Navy's Fleet into Sydney in 1913.

Air displays will take place above the harbour on Friday but the big event will be held on Saturday where the Royal salute to the navy will begin at 2pm and close with a fireworks display which organisers say will rival the New Years Eve spectacular.
