Inquest into the disappearence of Irish surfer begins

AN inquest into the disappearance and suspected death of 20-year-old Irish surfer, Stuart Butler, has begun today.

Mr Butler went missing in the surf off Tallows Beach, Byron Bay, and is believed to have drowned.

Mr Butler was surfing with Levi Fahrenholtz, 25, from the US, and Mike Fuller, 19, from England when he went missing in treacherous conditions.

A wide-scale search was conducted in the following days, but Mr Butler was never found.
