Bruns Acoustics in tune with the worlds’ best in audio

ASIA may be regarded as the global electronics hub, but a small group of product designers and audio engineers in the Brunswick Valley are hoping to change that.

Bruns Acoustics owners Phil Johnson, Eljay Driessens, Sandy Morrow and Tyler Solleder design handmade speakers that merge modern wireless technology with quality craftsmanship.

The team has a rich history of developing world-class products for large American companies, but became disenchanted by the constant push to reduce cost, which often sacrificed quality and used materials harmful to the environment.

Their most recent achievement was winning the prestigious CES Design and Engineering Innovations Award last year for headphone design.

The desire to challenge the status quo of the consumer electronics industry led the team to design handcrafted speakers with classic styling that enable users to wirelessly stream music from their smartphone or tablet.

"The speaker is built with an analogue amplifier, as its warm, natural sound makes it a pleasure to listen to for extended periods of time," Phil said.

The entire manufacturing process from milling the logs to wiring the speakers is occurs in the Brunswick Valley workshop.

"We consider ourselves craftsmen and are passionate about the work we do," Tyler said.
