In-form Penrith Panthers going in unchanged

PENRITH coach Ivan Cleary has been afforded the rare luxury of an unchanged line-up for tonight's clash against the Roosters at Pepper Stadium.

And what better time, with the Panthers coming off a 20-6 victory over last season's premier, South Sydney.

That result followed a comprehensive 35-12 win over Wests Tigers, which coincided with the return of New Zealand international Dean Whare (pictured).

The fleet-footed centre was instrumental in David Simmons' four-try haul against Wests and claimed one for himself against the Rabbitohs.

Bryce Cartwright has led the way for the Penrith forwards, earning many admirers with his performance against Souths last Friday night, running for over 200m and causing havoc with his impressive offloads.

Manly-bound hooker Apisai Koroisau has been impressive while filling in for the injured James Segeyaro, while Jamie Soward and Peter Wallace will again provide a solid combination in the halves.

Roosters coach Trent Robinson, meanwhile, said he would have all his Origin representatives - the Blues' Michael Jennings, Mitchell Pearce and Boyd Corner, and Queensland's Aidan Guerra - available.

Robinson said Pearce, who was roundly criticised after the Blues' 52-6 Origin thrashing on Wednesday night, would bounce back.

"In the past, Mitchell has used it (Origin defeat) in a positive way, and that's what our players have to do," he said. "He's our captain, and he's well placed to play his best footy."
