Hundreds enjoy feast of food

Byron Bay’s Railway Park was packed on Saturday afternoon as hundreds of people joined in the annual Beggars Banquet.

Organised to celebrate the spirit of giving, the event also was a fund raiser for the Byron Neighbourhood Resource Centre.

As well as free food for everyone, there was plenty of free music and entertainment.

Backpacking sisters Teresa and Katie Valiquette and their friend, Jana Feldhusen from Germany were among those who lined up to share in the banquet.

They all agreed it was an ‘amazing’ event which should be held more often.
