How not to appear before the magistrate...

APPEARING to be under the influence of a substance and wearing board shorts, thongs and a polo shirt, David John Flower disrupted proceedings in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.

Magistrate Cameron Press ordered the Rockhampton man to be removed from the gallery after he made several incoherent, loud outbursts during proceedings.

Flower was ordered to wait outside until he was due to appear on charges of failing to take reasonable care and precautions in respect of a syringe or needle, possessing a knife in a public place, attempted fraud and dishonestly obtaining property from another and three counts of fraud and dishonestly obtaining property from another.

When he was called before Magistrate Press, despite his matter being immediately adjourned, Flower felt the need to address Press before leaving the court.

"I'm not the best sort of a bloke but thanks for your hospitality mate," Flower said.

Flower will reappear on July 23.
