Hotel comes on board with Cup race

THE popular Byron Bay Cup is on again and will be run at the Ballina Jockey Club on Sunday, August 28.
Chairman of the jockey club Robert Pitt said this year’s cup was being sponsored by The Park Hotel at Suffolk Park..
“We are very appreciative of this sponsorship and the support of Andrew Sheridan and his team at The Park Hotel,” he said.
“The club is planning a fun day at the Ballina racecourse with not only great racing but also fashions in the field and live music.
“This is traditionally an enjoyable and exciting day in our racing calendar when the Byron Bay community can come together and celebrate their Cup.”
Tickets are $15 which will include bus transport to and from the racecourse and gate entry.
They will be available shortly from selected outlets, including from the Byron Shire News office. Details will be included in next week’s Byron Shire News.
Some individual race sponsorships are still available.
Costing $700, race sponsorship includes the naming of a race which will be included in all form guides and the racing media, advertisements in the day’s race book, on-course announcements and 10 tickets for gate entry as well as entry into the members lounge.
Mr Pitt said this was a great opportunity to entertain clients or reward staff.
Anyone interested in taking up this offer can contact the Ballina Jockey Club on 6686 0333.
“We invite all Byron Bay and associated communities to come and celebrate the running of The Park Hotel Byron Bay Cup,” Mr Pitt said.
