THE vaulting team from the Byron Bay Equestrian Centre put on a spectacular performance at the Festival of the Horse on Sunday.
Hosted by the Ballina and District Riding for the Disabled Association at Teven, the event was held in honour of the horses' birthday, which is celebrated each year on August 1.
Young rider Ella Duplessis said she had only been vaulting since the start of the year.
"I love it - it's the best fun in the world," she said.
But the real stars were, as expected, the horses.
RDA president Beatrice Gray said the organisation had nine horses and they were paraded at the start of the festival.
"I think the horses appreciated having a bit of an audience - they were showing off a bit.
"We have this festival because we want to celebrate the horses' birthday and thank them for all the hard work they do for us during the year."
The Riding for the Disabled Association provides people with a disability with the opportunity to ride and enjoy all activities connected with horse riding. Ms Gray said the Ballina and District branch, located on North Teven Rd at Teven, was preparing for a move to a new property at the end of the year.
"We're going to a new home on Houghlahans Creek Rd," she said.
