NATURAL medicine remedies are as useful as taking a placebo, a major study of homeopathy has found.
The National Health and Medical Research Council reviewed more than 220 papers to reach an official position on homeopathy this week.
It found there were no health conditions for which there was reliable evidence that homeopathy was effective. The council also said people could put their health at risk if they rejected or delayed other proven medical treatments for health problems.
But the Australian Homeopathic Association reportedly rejected the findings, saying it would take a larger study to disprove the council's findings.
