ACTING Prime Minister Warren Truss has asked for an immediate statement from Holden on its plans for manufacturing in Australia.

Earlier today Holden chief executive Mike Devereux told the Productivity Commission that parent company General Motors had made no decision on the future of its Australian factory.

Mr Truss has written to the Holden boss seeking answers.
