Hitting a high note

TWO of the North Coast's most promising young instrumentalists have been selected to join musicians from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra (SSO) for the annual Playerlink next week in Bellingen.

Multi-instrumentalist Francis Atkins, 17, from South Golden Beach, and trumpeter Bodhi Scott-Jones, 17, from Ballina, both pictured, will have a unique opportunity to learn from the best in the business.

"We're excited to be selected for Playerlink. It means playing with and learning from the most senior players of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra," said Francis. Both musicians will also be part of Byron Music Society's Annual Youth Concert on Sunday, November 15 at the Byron Community Centre.
