Helena and Vikki backing mums to win My Kitchen Rules final

TWINS Helena and Vikki Moursellas hope mums Bree May and Jessic Liebich can defeat their My Kitchen Rules rivals in tonight's grand final.

The sisters were eliminated from the show last night after losing to the Adelaide mums by 10 points.

"We really wanted to get to the grand final and beat Chloe and Kelly and prove we've got the skills and knowledge to beat them," Vikki told APN.

"But Helena and I are very satisfied with how far we've got in the competition. Our goal was Top 5 so to get to the Top 3 was a bonus."

Vikki believes Bree and Jessica have what it takes to defeat Kelly and Chloe, who knocked favourites Paul and Blair out of Sunday's semi-final.

"Bree and Jessica are very strong cooks," she said.

"They were a team that we could see in the grand final from day one."

Vikki hopes the food is the star of tonight's grand final, which is expected to attract at least three million viewers, is the food rather than Kelly and Chloe's personalities.

"May the best cook win at the end of the day," she said.

"It is a food competition. The show's (results) are based on the food and not the personality, so may the best team win."

Despite the large amount of airtime given her and Helena's clashes with the Perth girls, Vikki said they are now on good terms.

"When we were filming the show we weren't fans of the girls," she said.

"On the show they were pretty nasty and they said a couple of negative comments that weren't nice but they are human beings at the end of the day.

"There were a couple of times when I couldn't stand them, but now that the show's finished we're friends with the girls."

The twins looks set to do well on the back of the show, signing a cook book deal last week.

"It's very exciting. The book will be out in March next year," Vikki said.

"It will be based on simple Greek food. It's all about taking you back to our roots where it all started.
"There are a lot of original recipes but also a lot of modern-day Greek recipes that have got Helena and Vikki's touch."

The My Kitchen Rules grand final airs tonight at 7.30pm on Channel 7.
