Hannant rumoured to return after calf injury

SPECULATION about a return to the paddock has surrounded Broncos prop Ben Hannant for several weeks. That will continue in the lead-up to his team's clash against the Knights at Hunter Stadium tonight.

The Maroons and Kangaroos representative has been out since round 14 with a recurring calf injury, which he aggravated again in the warm-up before the round-16 game against the Warriors.

He headed to Newcastle yesterday afternoon, and will have a final fitness test this morning.

"If he gets through, and the medical people think he is okay, we will put him out there," Broncos coach Anthony Griffin said.

Brisbane's English centre Jack Reed looks a certainty to return from a collarbone injury suffered four weeks ago.

Meanwhile, the Knights have named former Dragon Adam Cuthbertson, and the youngest Sims brother, Korbin, on the bench.

With no Willie Mason (cheekbone) and Kade Snowden still suspended, Cuthbertson and Sims are on a five-man bench.

The Knights will have a new-look front row against the Broncos because of Mason's injury.

Ex-Rabbitoh David Fa'alogo will start alongside Zane Tetevano.
