Hail our new PM - exit poll gives Libs 97, ALP 51

AN EXIT poll conducted by Newspoll  for Sky News today has again confirmed a likely landslide victory for the Coalition, with 97 seats to Labor's 51.

A report on the Sky News website predicts the only crossbenchers to keep their seats would be Tasmanian Andrew Wilkie and Queenslander Bob Katter.

Liberal powerbroker Michael Kroger has already called the result on Sky News.

"Tony Abbott is the Prime Minister of the country from 4.39pm onwards," he said on Sky News.
