Greens leader, Di Natale, gets warm welcome in Bangalow

GREENS leader Richard Di Natale got a rapturous reception from more than 250 of the party faithful on the final stop of his national tour last night at the Bangalow A&I Hall.

He urged supporters to be prepared saying expected the Turnbull government to go to the polls before next September, the due date for an election.

Extra seating had be found for the big crowd there to hear Di Natale officially launch Dawn Walker as the endorsed Greens Candidate for the Federal seat of Richmond.

He told the meeting he believed the Greens had a real chance of winning Richmond and possibly holding the balance of power in the Lower House

"This region has (already) delivered breakthrough wins for the Greens. With two Green mayors and a Greens state MP for Ballina, the future looks positive for the region," he said.

"The time is now ripe to elect a Green to the federal seat of Richmond."
