Spotlight on Green Frog locomotive

The 'Green Frog' locomotive will be the focus of the next Byron Bay Historical Society exhibition at the Lighthouse Cottage.

The exhibition, being held in conjunction with the National Parks and Wildlife Service, will be held from 10am to 2pm from Saturday April 4 to Wednesday April 8, then from Monday April 13 to Sunday April 19 (not over Easter).

The emphasis of the display will be the 'Green Frog' and the historical importance of the railway to Byron Bay.

The 'Green Frog' hauled freight and passengers from the station and sidings around town to steamers moored at the jetty. In its later years it hauled whale carcases from the jetty to the old whaling station.
