Denyer heads back to town

AUSTRALIA’S most famous weatherman, Grant Denyer, is heading back to Gympie, this time for the Optus Muster.

Denyer’s publicist, Penny Heath, confirmed the Sunrise star would be coming back to the Gympie Region tomorrow.

“The rumours are true,” Ms Heath said.

“Sunrise is coming to Gympie this Wednesday.

“Grant Denyer will be broadcasting Sunrise weather from the Muster from 6am to 9am.

“He will be chatting with locals and showing the rest of Australia what makes the Gympie Muster so special and unique,” she said.

It will be Denyer’s and morning show Sunrise’s second trip to Gympie this year.

Last time Channel Seven came to Gympie was in May.

Back then Denyer and his wife were driving his Kombi van across the state.

It broke down outside of Gympie and he had to have the electrics fixed while doing the live cross from Lake Alford duck ponds.

Denyer will arrive just as the crowd starts to build in the Amamoor Creek State Forest.

Volunteers and Apexians spent all weekend feverishly working to set up the venues in the entertainment precinct.

Today is the first day of official entertainment on the Muster site.

The Bush Poets will lead the way this morning with their wacky poems in the Muster Club, followed by a host of performers in four venues.

The James Nash High School Blues band will open the Blues Bar and Steve Graham gets things started in the Tavern.
