GORGEOUS and fast. The first example of the quickest production series Ferrari ever built has arrived in Australia.

The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta can rip from standstill to 100kmh in 3.1 seconds. It can keep powering to more than 340kmh.

And the price for all this power and presence - $690,245 before on-roads.

"We are extremely excited to have the F12 Berlinetta arrive in Australia, as it sets a new benchmark for extreme sports cars and will be the epitome of the Ferrari range offered to our clients," Ferrari Australasia CEO Herbert Appleroth said.

This V12 Sports car features classic themes with its innovative design and extreme aerodynamics.

It is the most powerful and high-performance Ferrari road car ever launched thanks to the incredibly efficient engine - in terms of mechanical, combustion and fluid-dynamics efficiency - which, together with advanced vehicle architecture, aerodynamics, components and electronic controls, which Ferrari says guarantees unsurpassed driving involvement whatever the road or track.

Ferrari says this vehicle will change the way people think about supercars and their abilities on the road.

The Australian customers have shown their excitement for the newest member of the Ferrari family with a number of forward orders being placed and an 18-month wait list. The first of the customer orders will be arriving into the
