Gold Coast home a crime scene after man shot dead

GOLD Coast detectives investigating the suspicious death of a man at Gilston have identified the victim as 37-year-old Shyam Dhody aka Sam Dhody.

Around 4.45pm on Friday, police discovered the body of a man in a home on Sunbird Court.

Police say the pair had only been living at the newly-built property for two weeks.

The property investor sustained gunshot wounds but police are refusing to provide further details, or reveal whether there was a struggle or signs of forced entry.

They have ruled out links to bikie gangs, however. 

Police have renewed their appeal to members of the public who may have information regarding the death, the victim's background or his movements over the last week.

Police also wish to speak to anyone who may have seen any persons or vehicles in the vicinity of 1 Sunbird Court between 7.00am and 4.30pm on Friday, 5 July 2013.
