Girl loses battle to stay alive after hit by car in Sydney

A YOUNG girl has died after being hit by a car in Sydney last week.

The seven-year-old was found unconscious in the back of a car at Fairfield last Thursday.

Bystanders told police they were trying to take the injured girl to hospital.

She died on Thursday.

A 44-year-old driver was questioned by police but it's believed the child ran onto the road.
