Uber delivering ice-cream for free at Byron Bay until 5pm

UBER is today delivering Gelato Messina on demand in Byron Bay as part of a Splendour in the Grass.

It's part of an event held in 17 cities across Australia.

New users who sign up with the code 'ICECREAMOZ' will even get their Messina tub free.

For existing Uber users, a 470ml tub of 'uberX Scoops' will set you back $15 - which makes for a fairly expensive snack.

If you're in Byron today, you may be able to get some free ice-cream from Uber.I am in Byron at the moment and I'm going to try it out. I'll let you know how it goes.

How does it work?

If you haven't used Uber before, download the Uber app and create an account - and use the promo code in the promotions section of the app.

Open the Uber app on Friday between 11am - 5pm, set your location and request the "Ice Cream" option.

If successful, a tub of delicious Messina - Hazelnut gelato with white chocolate, hazelnut fudge, milk chocolate chips and cream filled wafers - will be at your door within minutes.
