GEORGE Lucas and Mellody Hobson have welcomed their first child together.

The couple, who tied the knot in June after seven years together, have confirmed their daughter, Everest Hobson Lucas, was born via a gestational surrogate on Friday (09.08.13).

The tot is the first biological child for both the 'Star Wars' director and Mellody, 44, who serves as president of Ariel Investments and chairman of DreamWorks Animation, according to the Huffington Post.

The 69-year-old filmmaker also has three older children, Amanda, 32, whom he adopted with his ex-wife Marcia Lou Griffin, as well as Katie, 25, and Jett, 20, whom he adopted alone after his divorce from Marcia in 1983.
