Garrett scores a perfect 10

Byron Bay's Garrett Parkes showed his affinity for tube-riding at the Billabong Pro Junior Coffs Harbour last weekend where he finished runner-up to overall winner Owen Wright of Lennox Head as well as netting the only perfect 10 ride of the event.

Parkes ( pictured) won his semi-final heat off a perfect 10-point ride for a long, clean right-hand barrel to advance to the final where he was defeated by an in-form Wright with a 13.90 heat total to Wright's 17.00 overall score.

The Billabong Pro Junior Coffs Harbour is the third stop on the ASP Australasia Pro Junior tour for boys and the first stop for girls.

It holds a total prize-money purse of $ 23,000. PHOTO: Kirstin Scholtz/ ASP Australasia
