Gallen and his former coach clash

THE frosty relationship between Sharks captain Paul Gallen and former first-grade coach Brian Smith has become public, with an ugly Twitter war between them shocking followers on the social network.

Gallen's account went into overdrive after Smith accused him of avoiding Roosters rival Dylan Napa on Monday night after the young forward hit him with a bruising tackle.

Smith also posted what he really thought regarding illegal peptides allegedly being given to Cronulla players.

Gallen (pictured) said his father, Garry, was the author of a string of angry responses on @PaulGallen13.

It started when Smith posted, "Peps give unfair advantage in avlbl phys (available physical) resources used illegally", before writing Gallen got "smashed" by Napa and had run away from him afterwards.

Gallen's account responded, "Looking forward to the time I run into u Brian u couldn't play couldn't coach your (sic) just a sad ...".

Gallen's account also tweeted a defence against "keyboard warriors", and the Blues skipper later revealed Smith had never liked him during his time at Parramatta in 2003-04.
