‘Frosty’ has high hopes he won’t be out in cold

FORD driver Mark Winterbottom is confident the new Falcon FG X can bring about a reversal of fortunes at this weekend's V8 Supercars opening round in Adelaide.

Ford has won just one of the last 11 races at the Clipsal 500 since 2010, Will Davison claiming victory in race two in 2012.

But after a solid fourth in this month's Super Testing weekend in Sydney, "Frosty" said he was keen to start the season strongly.

"Obviously the test day went really well in the FG X, so it will be nice to take it to a slower speed track," he said. "I think we have a car that brakes well and is good at high speeds."

Two races over 125km each will be held on Saturday, with a 250km race on Sunday.
