THERE has been an overwhelming response to the death of Ningi woman Adelle Collins on Saturday.

More than 50 people attended a vigil earlier this week for the 39-year-old mother of two who was allegedly murdered by her estranged partner.

Now her family and friends and the broader Moreton Bay community are pulling together to raise funds to lessen the financial burden on the family.

A trust fund was set up yesterday to provide for Ms Collins' children, Declan and Ava.

The children will be cared for by their father, based on the Sunshine Coast, and relatives.

Forty people have donated more than $2000 in less than 24 hours. The goal is $20,000.

Louisa Hammerslag donated $100 with the message: "To ease some of the burdens in life", while Chantel Greig put forward $50 with the words: "I am so sorry for your loss. I wish there were more I could do. May butterflies surround Ava and (Declan) always."
