Four turtles given their freedom

Australian Seabird Rescue released four turtles back into the ocean at Byron Bay’s Main Beach last Friday, to the delight of beachgoers.
Each turtle was carried well into the surf by an ASR volunteer before being let go.
The four turtles were among a number being cared for by the group at its Ballina headquarters and had either been beached or caught up in fishing hooks and lines.
General manager of ASR, Rochelle Ferris, said it was a record number of turtles in car at one time.
Ms Ferris said more tanks had to be bought to accommodate the turtles.
