Four ships have taken on gas at QCLNG
MORE than a month into exporting gas, the QCLNG berth at Curtis Island has handled four ships.
The fourth fully loaded vessel departed last week and the fifth is due to arrive at the weekend.
That number is consistent with QGC's planned schedule for the commissioning phase of the first production train.
When the plant is at full production capacity next year, up to 120 vessels per year on average will visit QCLNG.
Bechtel will continue working on QCLNG throughout 2015 to finalise commissioning and production testing of the LNG processing Train 1, and to finalise construction and then commission Train 2 in the second half of the year.
A company spokesman said the LNG companies with housing facilities used for fly-in fly-out workers on Curtis Island were working with government authorities to assess a number of options to house contract workers that would be required for maintenance from time-to-time.
