Flicks in the Field returns for New Year's

BANGALOW Flicks in the Field drive-in cinema is returning to tick all the boxes when it comes providing a fun way for the family to say "goodbye 2016 - hello 2017'.

After a successful first outing in April this year, the Flicks team will be presenting Grease on Friday, December 30, and The Goonies on New Year's Eve at the Bangalow Showground.

"The crew is hoping for fine weather so we can see out the year in vintage style,” said Flicks co-founder and Bangalow local, Anthony Lycenko.

Technology permitting, the Flicks team is planning an intermission in the middle of The Goonies to live-stream the 9pm New Year's Eve fireworks from Sydney.

"The crackers should look amazing on our jumbo screen,” said fellow Flicks co-founder Ben Alcock.

"Gates open at 6.30 with features starting at 8 on both nights. It's first-in, best-dressed for the drive-in, so we recommend arriving early. Find a good spot, settle in, hit the food carts and confectionery stand.

"Walk-in tickets can be purchased at the gate on the night, and there's plenty of room in front of the screen for picnic rugs and beanbags.”
