Five past and present Titans to plead not guilty

THE five current and former Gold Coast Titans facing drugs charges are pleading not guilty when their case resumes in court in May.

Rugby league stars Greg Bird, Dave Taylor, Kalifa Faifai Loa and former Titans Ashley Harrison and Joe Vickery appeared in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.

Lawyers for the current and former players who appeared reportedly told the court they were pleading not guilty to the drugs charges. Bird, Faifai Loa, Harrison and Vickery all had their cases adjourned until May 8. The appearances follow a hearing for former NRL star Karmichael Hunt.

He pleaded guilty to four counts of possession last week.

The court imposed a $2500 fine and no conviction was recorded.
