First Mullum Music Festival line up announced

MULLUM Music Festival has announced the first eight acts of its 2016 line up.

The first announcement includes:

  • Eilen Jewell: This American singer-songwriter from Boise, Idaho, has released seven albums of music. In 2010, Jewell released the album Butcher Holler, an album of Loretta Lynn covers. Her latest release was Sundown Over Ghost Town (2015).

 

  • Harpoonist & the Axe Murderer: Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer are the Vancouver based blues duo, consisting of Shawn Hall and Matthew Rogers. Harpoonist & the Axe Murderer are widely known for their amazing live shows and commanding stage presence. Having only two members, they sing, play guitar, foot percussion and harmonica.

 

  • Julien Baker: Julien Rose Baker is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist from Memphis, Tennessee. She is a member of the alternative rock band Forrister. She released a studio album, Sprained Ankle, on 6131 Records in 2015.

 

  • Henry Wagons & The Only Children: Henry Wagons is an Australian singer/songwriter, musician, radio & TV personality and frontman of the outlaw country rock band Wagons who have released six albums in Australia. Wagons is the host of Tower Of Song, a national Americana/roots radio show on Double J.
  • Gareth Liddiard: Gareth Liddiard is an Australian musician and founding member of The Drones. Liddiard has released one album as a solo artist and seven studio albums with the Drones.
  • Matt Andersen: Matt Andersen is a Juno Awards nominated Canadian blues guitarist and singer-songwriter, from Perth-Andover, New Brunswick, signed to True North Records. His musical career started in 2002, with the New Brunswick band, Flat Top.

Other artists in the line up are Tash Sultana, Suzannah Espie, Olympia, Bobby Alu and the Palm Royale, Lior, The Meltdowns, Hat Fitz, Cara Robinson and Jordie Lane.
