Minister for Primary Industries, Lands and Water Niall Blair said the weekend's events demonstrated the State Government's good work, but said it didn't guarantee there would be no further attacks.

"Sunday morning's operation involving DPI aerial surveillance working with Byron police and surf lifesavers to shepherd a 3.5m white shark away from The Pass, Byron Bay demonstrates the value of a multifaceted approach," he said.

"Although we can't guarantee there will be no shark attacks, the NSW Government is doing all we can to minimise the risk."
