Fires lit along bike path cause damage to nearby homes

A SERIES of suspicious fires were lit around Bracken Ridge yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to a bike path near the Deagon Deviation around 2:30pm after reports of a number of grass fires.

Police then located a number of fires along the bike path that were causing significant damage to a sound barrier between the road and several houses.

The fire also caused minor damage to neighbouring properties.

Police are appealing for anyone travelling in the area around the time of the fires with dashcam footage or CCTV.

Anyone who may have seen any suspicious behaviour around the time of the fires is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
