Festival shedding light on renewable energy
RENEWFEST, a showcase of all the latest in sustainable energy, will switch on at Mullumbimby Showground this Saturday, from 10am to 8pm.
The festival supports Community Owned Renewable Energy Mullumbimby and will feature all currently available electric cars including the Tesla models, the new BMWi, Nissan Leaf and Mitsubishi i-MiEV. A Tesla representative will also be on hand.
A range of renewable energy solar batteries will also be on show including Tesla Powerwall, Enphase, LG Chem and Aquion.
There will be presentations from a range of experts including Doug Meldrum of 360 Energy on battery solutions, and Mark Byrne from the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage on what people can do when the NSW solar bonus ends. Experts from Light Touch Solar and Electrical will also be on hand to offer advice on buying battery systems.
“It’s a coup to have both the Tesla Powerwall battery and Tesla and BMW cars on show at RenewFest,” said Vicki Brooke, one of the organisers.
“If you want to see the cutting edge of solar technology, this is the festival for you.
“There are also talks on understanding the many important aspects of biodiversity and the things you can do to help conserve our environment.”
