THIS week's blog is on a beautiful Ferrari 458 Italia that attended the Brisbane Super Car Run back in August.

This beast is equipped with a 4.5 litre, 32 valve V8 engine which can produce up to 419 kilowatts (562 horsepower) at 9,000 rpm and 540 Newton metres of torque (398 pound-feet of torque) at 6,000 rpm.

This power goes through a seven-speed dual-clutch automated-manual transmission that then sends the power to the rear wheels.

This particular 458 is also equipped with the standard 'Ferrari E-Diff', which is an electronic limited-slip rear differential that varies the distribution of torque based on inputs such as the lateral acceleration and steering angle. It also has a dry weight of just 1,380 kilograms (3,042 pounds).

All of this allows the 2012 Ferrari 458 Italia to launch from 0-100 kilometres per hour in under 3.4 seconds, and it will keep accelerating until it reaches its top speed of 325 kilometres per hour (202 miles per hour).

Ferrari first released the 458 Italia at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show as a replacement to the Ferrari F430, and it was a huge success! To this day, the Ferrari 458 range is the most sold Ferrari ever, ahead of the Ferrari F430.

Compared to the F430, the 458 Italia performs 32% better in the corners and during lateral acceleration thanks to the double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension, the E-Diff and the F1 - Trac traction control system.

Some other features that this particular Ferrari 458 Italia is equipped with includes Rosso Scuderia paint, variable intermittent wipers, 20 inch, five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in performance tires, a front and rear stabilizer bar, four-wheel ABS as well as traction and stability control, electronic brake force distribution and emergency braking preparation, Giallo Modena brake calipers, a premium black and red leather interior, sport seats with Daytona inserts, dual-zone climate controls for the driver and passenger, a satellite navigation system and much more.

You can currently purchase a 2012 Ferrari 458 Italia for around $A460,000.
