Fatal shooting allegedly linked to outlaw bikie gang

HOMICIDE detectives in Sydney are investigating links between a fatal shooting at Eastlakes this week and the bikie feud simmering in the city's western suburbs.

One man was killed and another left with serious leg injuries after a drive-by gunman opened fire on the pair in George St carpark late Monday.

Detective Inspector David Laidlaw told reporters in Sydney on Tuesday the men were known to police and were allegedly associated with an outlaw gang which had recently moved into the area.

He believed the shooting was a targeted attack but said investigations into a motive were continuing.

The name of the 37-year-old deceased had not been released on Tuesday night.

The 25-year-old survivor had been treated for a gunshot wound to his leg and was in a stable condition.
