Ewingsdale Road closed due to oil spill

UPDATE: POLICE have said the clean up has finished and traffic is slowly returning to normal.


ORIGINAL: EWINGSDALE Road is closed in both directions into Byron Bay due to an oil spill on the road.

The oil spill, which is on Ewingsdale Road from the Woolworths service station to the Industrial Estate, has come from a truck, Byron Shire Council said in a release.

Police and Council staff are in attendance and traffic is being diverted.

The cleanup is expected to take at least a few hours, council said.

Motorists are asked to please observe all traffic controls in place.
