Emergency services clean up spill at Byron Bay

EMERGENCY services are on the scene of a 3km long spill at Byron Bay.

A Newcastle Fire Communications spokesman said NSW Fire and Rescue Byron Bay brigade were notified by police of the spill on Lighthouse Rd at 7.24am.

Police, Byron Shire Council staff and fire fighters are working to contain the spill, which is believed to be either fuel or oil.
